Rowdy Zanu PF youths on Saturday booed Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai and MDC-T top officials at Vice-President Joice Mujuru’s Chisipite home on Friday when they went to pay condolences following the death of her husband, Retired General Solomon Mujuru.

Among those who were booed by the Zanu PF youths were Finance minister Tendai Biti and Information and Communication Technology minister Nelson Chamisa.

Even Zanu PF national chairman Simon Khaya Moyo who later stood outside the Mujuru house with Tsvangirai failed to silence party youths as they heckled and shouted obscenities at the Premier.

But Tsvangirai appeared unmoved by the heckling youths, some of whom called for his immediate departure while others labelled him a “sell-out”.
Zanu PF Marondera East MP Tracy Mutinhiri was not spared the wrath by the unruly youths, who also jeered at her as she arrived at the National Heroes’ Acre for Mujuru’s burial.

As if it was not enough, the Zanu PF youths again on Saturday heckled at Tsvangirai, but were silenced by President Robert Mugabe.

Home Affairs co-minister Kembo Mohadi tried to calm down the youths in vain, and it took President Mugabe to silence thousands of vociferous youths who jeered whenever the Premier’s name was mentioned.

“We have three parties in the inclusive government. Yes, we compete, we have different beliefs, but we are like churches. We have Romans, Anglicans and other churches, but there is only one God.

“We are burying a national hero and all of us from different parties here are represented so we don’t want to see those who are making noise and booing others. We are united here,” President Mugabe said.

“If we (Zanu PF) do our own things and they (MDC) bring their ‘change’ slogan, we can only respond and ask how we can change even our fathers and mothers.

“Please, no violence, no violence and no violence. People living in the same house should not fail to eat because one is Zanu PF and the other is MDC. Let’s create peace in our country. We are very happy that in the last months there has been peace in the country and let’s keep it like that until election where we will choose our leaders.
