A FORMER Coventry teacher has formed a pressure group to help oust Zimbabwe president Robert Mugabe.

Emily Madamombe set up Conservatives for Zimbabwe with Huddersfield-based Tory party member Alan Fish.

Emily, 44, fled Zimbabwe ten years ago because of her membership of the then-opposition group, the MDC.

Mugabe is accused of human rights abuses against white farmers, and of overseeing economic meltdown in Zimbabwe.

Alan said: “We’ve formed the group to attract Conservatives who are interested in democracy and the rule of law in Zimbabwe.

“Emily has quite a few contacts with government ministers and people on the ground in Zimbabwe.”
